Who is Hiring in Austin?
If you’re looking for a job in Austin, BuiltInATX lists tech and startup jobs specifically in the Austin Area. Startup incubator Capital Factory lists jobs at exciting young companies across the city.
National accelerator Y Combinator also lists jobs at startups they fund in Austin.
To work in the United States you will need a temporary or permanent work visa.
Internships
Many companies in Austin take on interns; many of these internships are listed on job websites. If you are looking for internship opportunities be sure to apply several months in advance as you will also need to sort out visa issues. The UK is part of the ESTA visa waiver program which entitles you to stay in the United States for up to three months if you hold British Citizenship. You are not permitted to work during that time. To take on an internship you need a J-1 Exchange Visa. (more information here).
